Spokane Hair Dressers is an independent directory and review guide for hairdressers across the Spokane, WA metro, operated by August SEO, LLC. We try to collect as little as possible, be plain about what we do collect, and never make money by selling your information. This page explains it in normal words.
August SEOWhat we collect
When you sign in (with Google, Facebook, or Apple), we receive your verified email address and your name from that provider — nothing more, and never your password. If you use Apple's “Hide My Email,” we only ever see the private relay address Apple gives us.
When you claim a profile, we collect the name, optional phone number, and optional salon you enter, plus the photo you upload (required, as a credibility check). When you join the early-access list, we collect your email and, optionally, your name and whether you're a stylist, salon, or client. If you write a review or upload portfolio photos, we store what you submit.
Public business facts — a salon or stylist's name, address, neighborhood, and public Google star rating — are part of the directory itself. These are facts about a business, not personal account data, and they may appear whether or not anyone has signed up.
Usage data. Like most sites, we use Google Analytics to understand how pages are used (e.g. which specialties people browse). It sets cookies and collects standard, largely anonymized analytics data such as approximate location, device, and pages visited.
How we use it
- To verify that a profile is really yours and to manage your provider dashboard (ownership is keyed to your verified email).
- To run the directory — show profiles, galleries, services, and reviews.
- To contact you about your claim, your profile, or — if you asked — early access to booking.
- To keep the site working, safe, and a little better over time.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your personal information.
- Store your passwords.
- Build advertising profiles about you or share your data with data brokers.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that make the site run: our sign-in providers (Google, Facebook, Apple) when you choose to log in, Google Analytics for usage stats, and the infrastructure providers that host the app, database, and image storage on our behalf. They process data under their own agreements and only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Text messaging (SMS)
If you opt in to appointment reminders while booking, we collect the mobile number you provide and use it only to send transactional SMS about your appointment (a confirmation and reminders, plus cancellation/reschedule notices), delivered through our messaging provider. We do not sell or share your mobile information or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Opting in is optional and never required to book; reply STOP anytime to opt out. See our SMS terms for program details.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in (it holds a signed token, not your password) and analytics cookies from Google Analytics. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; the sign-in cookie is required to use the dashboard.
Your choices & rights
You can disconnect the app any time from your provider's settings, which revokes our access immediately. To access, correct, or delete the data tied to your email, see our data deletion page or email mail@spokanehairdressers.com from the address you signed up with. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, opt-out) — just ask and we'll honor them.
Retention
We keep account and claim data for as long as your profile is claimed or your request is open, and we remove it on request. Waitlist emails are kept until booking launches or you ask us to remove you. Public business facts remain part of the directory.
Children
The site isn't directed to anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypt traffic over HTTPS, store uploaded photos in a private bucket served only through our own access-controlled proxy, and limit who can access data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take it seriously.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for material changes, note it on the site.
