Your gallery does the selling — a strong cover photo is the single biggest driver of profile views. This guide covers uploading work photos and before/afters to your Spokane Hairdressers profile, picking your cover, and captioning shots so clients find them; your first batch takes about ten minutes.
Before you start
- A claimed profile, signed in with the email your claim was approved with. Not claimed yet? Start with Claim your stylist profile.
- Photos as JPG, PNG, or WEBP, up to 10MB each. iPhone shots sometimes save as HEIC — if an upload fails, share or export the photo as a JPEG first.
- Your headshot is separate from the gallery — that lives in Edit your profile.
Upload your work
- Sign in and go to /dashboard, then press Manage on your profile card.
- In the quick links on the right, press Edit gallery.
- Drag photos onto the bar that says Drag photos here, or click to add — or tap it to pick from your phone. Each photo uploads on its own; there is no separate save button.
- For a transformation, press Before / after, drop one photo in Before and one in After, then press Add pair. It shows on your profile as a slider clients can drag — see What your clients see.
- Wait for the amber In review badge on each new photo to flip to Live. The Spokane Hairdressers team checks every upload before it goes public.
- Once a photo is Live, press Set as cover (the star) on the one that should lead your profile and your card in the directory. Setting a new cover un-sets the old one automatically.
- Under any photo, press + Describe — helps clients find this, type one line about the look, pick Which specialty? (optional) if one fits, and press Save. That caption is what search uses to match you with clients.
- To remove a photo, press Delete, then Delete photo to confirm. This can't be undone — the file is gone for good.
Phone photos that book clients
- Light: walk your client to a window and face it. Daylight shows color true; overhead salon lights turn blondes yellow.
- Angle: shoot vertical, back or three-quarter view, hair filling the frame. Gallery photos display in a tall portrait frame, so vertical shots crop cleanest.
- Basics: wipe your lens first, and hold still a beat after tapping.
- Consent: ask before you post — especially the before shot. A quick "mind if this goes on my page?" keeps every photo a happy one.
Good to know
A photo is stuck on "In review"
The upload worked. Every new photo waits for a quick check by a real person before going public — there's no timer on screen, but it's usually fast. The badge flips to Live and the photo appears on your public page the moment it's approved.
No "Set as cover" button on a new photo
The star only appears once a photo is Live. Upload, wait for approval, then set your cover.
A photo shows "Hidden"
It was taken off your public page during review, usually a quality or content call. Replace it with a stronger shot, or press Resubmit for review to have it looked at again.
Part of a big batch failed
Uploads are limited to 40 photos per 10 minutes, so a huge drop can end with some failures. Upload in batches of about 30, wait ten minutes, then re-drop the ones that didn't make it.
Changing the order of photos
Your cover leads, and the rest appear in the order you added them. There's no drag-to-reorder yet, so add photos in the order you want them seen.
