Your profile
Edit your profile
4 min read
Your profile is your storefront on Spokane Hairdressers — the photo, bio, and details clients see before they ever reach out. This guide walks through every field and where to change it, all from your dashboard. A full pass takes about ten minutes on your phone.
Before you start
- Be signed in with the same email your profile claim was approved for — see Create your account & sign in.
- Haven't claimed yet? Start with Claim your stylist profile.
Edit from your dashboard
- Go to your dashboard and press Manage on your profile card. If you manage just one profile, you'll land in the editor automatically.
- Under Profile photo, drag a photo onto the box or click it to browse, then press Save photo. A clear headshot works best — JPG, PNG, or WEBP. One warning: profiles without a photo sort below every profile that has one, so replace rather than remove.
- In About you, write your Bio — a few sentences about you and your work, up to 600 characters.
- Tap the Specialties pills to mark what you're known for. They show on your card and help clients find you in search.
- In Details & links, choose your Booking platform and paste your Booking link — where clients can book you today (Vagaro, Square, your phone number, wherever you take appointments).
- Add your Instagram (just the handle, without the @) and Website.
- Pick a Price range: Budget, Moderate, Premium, or Luxury. Clients see it as $ to $$$$.
- Set Accepting new clients to Yes, No, or Unknown. Yes puts an Accepting badge on your profile; Unknown shows nothing either way.
- Press Save changes. As the page says: "Changes go live on your profile right away."
Photos of your work are separate — they live in your gallery, which has its own guide: Build your gallery.
Edit right on your public page
You can also make changes without opening the dashboard.
- Visit your own profile page while signed in. A floating Edit profile button appears in the bottom-right corner — only you can see it.
- Press it. An amber bar pins to the top of the page and a panel slides in with the same fields as the dashboard.
- Scroll to Profile details for the one field that lives only here: Display name. Change it any time — your profile's web address stays the same. The bio box here also supports bold, italic, and lists.
- Press Save details, then Done in the amber bar to go back to viewing your page normally.
What's public and what's private
Everything in the profile editor is public: your photo, bio, specialties, links, price range, and accepting-new-clients status. Your sign-in email, dashboard, and anything under booking or billing stay private. To see exactly how your page reads to a client, check What your clients see.
Good to know
Your dashboard says "No profile linked yet"
The dashboard is tied to the exact email your claim was approved with. Check which address you signed in with — a different one shows nothing to manage. If you never claimed, find yourself in the directory and follow Claim your stylist profile.
The "Write a bio in your own words" checklist item won't check off
Short bios save fine, but the Profile strength checklist only counts a bio of at least a couple of sentences (about 40 characters). Add another line and it will check.
Your Instagram or website vanished after saving
Links the site can't recognize are quietly cleared on save — no error shows. Your website just needs to be a real address (mysite.com is fine; https:// is added for you), and Instagram should be the handle alone: letters, numbers, dots, and underscores. Pasting your full Instagram address works too.
"Booking platform" isn't the same as online booking
Those two fields only tell clients where you take appointments today. To let clients book you directly on Spokane Hairdressers — with payments going straight to your own Stripe account — see Turn on online booking.
The Edit profile button isn't on your page
It only appears when you're signed in with your claim email, so check that first. If you're on Safari and other buttons are missing too, a content blocker may be hiding it — turn off content blockers for this site and reload.
